Hey Consultant,

First of all you need the ESS/MSS business suite downloaded from SAP market place.

then you may deploy this with the help of SDM( s/w deployment mgr). then the particular role would be available in Enterprise protal. assign this to the user.

then an EP vala can do the customizations and changes

this is the procedure.

will send you the notes on how we implemented ESS/ MSS.

do let me know if you are interested.

Has the ESS business package been installed and configured in the portal (not talking about the ECC system here) ? If not , this needs to be done IF you want to process the leave request via the portal interface.

If you want the workflows you create to be presented in the portal in a structured manner, you could get your BASIS guys to install the Universal Worklist (UWL) in the portal. This then needs at least the basic configuration to present workflows (such as leave requests etc). If you dont want to use the UWL, you can just expose the inbox as an iView directly in the portal.

You need to have a good look through something like this doco as well:

Hi Soni,

For Leave Service, you require to configure ESS alone. Please check this link

Hi,

Thanks for ur replay.

I have one doubt on this.

If Clients does not want this ESS/MSS screens.

IS it compulsory in ECC server. or this ESS/MSS optional

So you want to know whether you can do leave requests WITHOUT ESS/MSS screens/configuration right?

According to this .... yes. Not sure if this is the case with ECC... but guess it is.
