Hi,
I've been trying to set up HXE 2.0 SPS03 with not much luck.
Configuration fails while executing script .init_hxe_cfg.sh when is trying to create new hardware key (ID). Here is full error text "line 887: 1945 Illegal instruction (core dumped) /usr/sap/${SID}/HDB${INSTANCE}/exe/hdbnsutil -convertTopology >> $LOF_FILE 2>&1 Failed to change hardware key".
No further details are found in refereed log file. I did some troubleshooting and found out that hdbnsutil itself is failing, regardless of parameters passed on. As core dump is disabled, only evidence of this process dump is found in Linux system log: "hxehost kernel: [ 102.868935} traps: hdbnsutil[1945] trap invalid opcode ip:74fe106abc07 sp:7ffd2641bae0 error:0 in libhdbbasis.co[7f4060bd3000+712000]traps:
Usually this would be related to incompatible Linux kernel but in case of prepared VM not sure. Below are environment details
Host: Intel 2 cores, 16GB RAM; Guest: VMware Workstation 12 Player
VM: SLES for SAP applications 12 SP2 & HXE 2.0 SPS03 server-only version
I have HXE 1.0 server+apps running ok on the same hw and VMware.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Mario
Hi Federico,
Thanks for suggestion and time. I have followed up you steps but unfortunately got the very same error.
I did remove all existing VMs than imported HXE 2.0 VM (server only). Next, Network Adaptor connection was changed from default Bridged to NAT. VM was started ok but failed running configuration script at the same point.
Regards,
Mario
