HTTP Proxy Authentication via SOAP

Hi,

I have created a deployable proxy to access webservices outside our corporate network.

Unfortunately this requires authentication via http proxy server.

I therefore made all the settings to the http service in the portal. But when accessing the SOAP service of the portal I still get "Proxy Authentication Required" as HTTP error.

As I understand is the SOAP service integrated in the WAS since EP 6.0 Stack 9. Do I have to make the proxy settings to the WAS as well? If yes, where?

Thanks Nicolas

And another link for general firewall configuration in the portal:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/33/8abf9e0ce011d7b84900047582c9f7/content.htm

The search is really cool:

enough links now...

Hi Karsten,

unfortunately I have done the HTTP Proxy settings in the portal as mentioned below.

But as I understand does the soap service now belong to the WAS where it does not access the portal proxy configuration anymore.

That is why all applications can access the internet perfectly eccept the Web Service Clients. They come back with the error "Proxy Authentication Needed".

I want to know what is the appropriate place to configure HTTP proxy for the SOAP service?

Please have a look at the error message:

com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxm.soap.accessor.NestedSOAPException: Problem in server response: [Proxy Authentication Required]..

Exception id: 09:39_21/03/05_0001_6764650

See the details for the exception ID in the log file

Hi Mirko,

you can enter the proxy settings using the Visual Administrator tool of the Web AS Java. Here's how to find the right place:

1. Connect the Visual Administrator to the server.

2. Browse the tree to <SID> -> serverX -> Services -> Web Services Container.

3. On the righthand side open the Runtime tab and then the Settings tab on the bottom. This should display the fields where you enter the proxy settings.

Hope that helps!

actually it seems that the J2EE engine does not use the parameters for username and password.

I had to open up an OSS note and they patched our webservice sda file to make use of username and password of the JVM settings.
