How to use Formula Editor

Former Member

Hi all,

I try to make formulate between two rules, exactly like during the example : "Example for Using the Formula Editor"

But at the step 2 ("From the list on the left-hand side of the screen choose the field by double-clicking on it")

i only have system fields, not source fields.

Is there anything to do before ?

Kind regards

Hi Fabrice,

you have to include the source fields you want to work on either by:

- Adding them in upper part of the rule details (push button 'Add Source field')

- Drag a line from the source field to the target field in the transformation maintenance. You will have all fields available that have as end point of the arrow the target field.

Hi Andreas,

Thanks for reply.

That's what i do. I got a field in source fields of rule (rules details) but it doesn't appeared in formula source fields.

Have a nice day.

Hi Fabrice,

please play a little bit around, it works in our system.

The way I tried is:

1.) Set the rule to direct assignment

2.) Activate transformation

3.) Enter maintenance afresh

4.) Draw arrows of all relevant fields you need for the formula

5.) Enter rule details

6.) Switch rule type to 'Formula'

7.) Now you should see all the fields.

There are probably other ways to get the fields in. This is just the one I tried.

If you are still not sucessful, please open a customer problem message.

Cheers

Hello Fabrice,

In your rule details windows I expect that the InfoObject field(s) is blank. You can only use the field in the transformation formula if it is already assigned as a InfoObject.

The only workaround I know is using a InfoSource, but hopefully there is a better solution.

József.

Hi József and Andreas,

Thanks for your replies.

You're right József but it doesn't work too.

I'll try with OSS, thanks for your help.
