Hi Experts,
i think we cannot transport the hierarchies from Development system to Production system.
i have searched the Sap help where they are saying we can achieve the same through the data mart interace, but i am not able to understand.
it would be a great help to let me know the procedure how to do the same.

Sunil...

Hi,
There are hierarchy datasources available in case you are going to load through DS. OR you want to load the hierarchy data through flat file.
You can carry out similar assigment which you do it for any text or attr datasource.
For transports you can collect the objects through transport connection.
Thanks and regards
Kiran

Hi Sunil,
Via. "Datamart" extraction.
First, You need to setup datamart sourcesystem, then create infosource, transfer rule and infopackage on the Infoobject where your hiearchy setup.
Once its all done, you can easily extract the hierarchy to QA/Prod system
Hope this helps.

Hi Mani,
thanks for the valuable answer.please corect the below what i understood.
1.already the datamart source system was available.
2.i need to generate the export datasource for the respective infoobject on which we created the hierarchy.
3.create the infosource using the generated export datasource
4.create the transfer rules for the infosource.
5.create the update rules from infosource to the Hierarchy info object.
5.create the info package.
you mean like i need to collect all the above objects in the single transport, where i can move the same to Q and P.
Please correct me if i am wrong.

Hi,
You can transport the hierarchy related object to QA then PRD like DS,transfer, update rules and package but we cant transport the Hierarchy to Another system it has to be build with in the system or it has to come from a source system .
As your mentioned order(hierarchy objects) is correct to transport

Hi Sunil,
The steps are as follows:
1. Create an export datasource on the info-object. It would create a data source 8***H for the hierarchy.
2. Go to the target BW system where you want the hierarchy to be loaded. Create a source system for the "source" BW system.
3. Replicate the source system. You would find the export datasource created existing there.
4.For the info-object create the info-source using the source system as the "source" BW system.
5. Create infopackage for hierarchy and click the "Available hierarchies from OLTP". In our case the BW "source" system is the OLTP.
6. The hierarchy created there would be visible here. Though it would be empty.
7. Schedule the infopackage and load it.
Hope this helps.

Mani
Hi Sunil,
Hierarchy can load in two types 1) Maintain in BW system
2) extract from SAP Sourcesystem
Maintain in BW system once you done generate export datasource to an object then you can maintain the external hierarchy else
once you do the generate export datasource then you can see hierarchy symbol under the object their also you can maintain/create
or
rsa1 on top you can find hierarchy symbol trough that also you can create an hierarchy manually
2) For getting hierarchy from Source system
once create transferuls then info package after that you have to specify the hierarchy name in the info package
you can get the hierarchy name from functional team or else if select all the available hierarchy from the source system( this option you would see in InfoPackage ) then you would get all the list of hierarchy available under the DS after that you have select relevant one
this way you can get hierarchy from SAP source system .

Satya
