How to stop Datasources from collecting data.

Hi experts.

I have a problem. Our BW server is not in use but the Datasources of our R3 system continues collecting data and sending it to the outbound RFC queue.

How can I stop it?

Note that I'm not a BW expert.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your replyes.

Andrew and sampath, I prefer not to delete anything because the BW server still is online and it may be used again.

Siegfried and Shawn, how can I delete the init requests or deactivate the extractor.

Thank you very much.

Hi Alberto,

you can delete the init request in your infopackage:

1. Open Infopackage

2. Go to scheduler --> Initialization options for source system

3. Delete the request.

Hope this helps.

hi alberto,

here is what i assume.

since the bw server is not in use, i assume it is offline. in this case, bw will no longer send any request to the source system. for the extraction that is driven by requests, they will be hence deactivated.

for the extraction driven by the extractor, they will continue function as they are scheduled. in this case, you may need to deactivate the extractor in the source system.

hope this clarifies.

Hi Alberto,

I haven't done this myself, but you could delete the datasource from your source system in RSA6.

Gurus - please let me know if there is another way of doing this, I am interested as well.

Hope this helps.

Andrew
