Hi all,
For reasons that are not important for my question we created on the R/3 side (ECC 4.7) a custom made transparent table. During the day data is stored / changed in this table by a custom made transaction. On a daily basis the content of the table is transferred to BW (3.5) by using a generic extraction. We now want this new / changed data to be instantly available in BW. We do not prefer a remote InfoCube but we think it must be possible to use the iDoc technology here.
Does anyone has tips, documents or perhaps a step by step solution how to do this?
Any help is welcome and will be rewarded with points.
Thnx in advance,
Henk.
Request clarification before answering.
If your data load automatically to BW into your ODS/infocube...Is it not data available in BW after that?

Hi,
If you are extracting the daily changed or new ( delta) data into an ODS in BW using a generic infosource, you cannot use the transfer method as IDoc. you will only be using PSA only.
You can automate this process by using process chains and we have a 0recordmode in ODS to track ur new or changed records

Hi guys,
It seems I didnt make myself completely clear. I know the possibilities of generic extraction. As a matter of fact in this stage we do use a generic extraction on a daily basis which delivers the data via PSA in a ODS in BW. All managed by ProcesChains. What we want is to change this situation in such a manner that the new / changed data in R/3 are directly transferred and available in BW. We thought about iDoc technology but dont know much about that type of data transfer. All tips, suggestions etc. are welcome as is any other suggestion.
Henk.
Create a generic datasource in order to load the information from R3 to BW...
