how to retain data in Delta after extraction

Hi Experts,

We are suppose to extract delta from same datasource for multiple cubes ... from the source system only ... now after we extract delta for cube A, there is another cube B which is suppose to extract delta from the same datasource at different times, is there any setting that we need to do to retain delta after extraction of first delta... so I can use it for another cube ...

thanks.

Sunil.

Hi Suneel ,

The Delta Based DTP should satisfy your requirement . The same Data source can be used to update several data targets but with different DTP's .

Delta DTP works on the below principle :

It would check the request in source and would see whether the same exist in the Target or not .If not then it is going to pick that request from the PSA and would update the same to the Data Target .

Thanks and Regards

HI,

DTP will satisfies your requirement.

DTP will update delta data with respect to target.

Get delta upto PSA and update it to targets using Delta enabled DTPs.

U can create number of delta DTPs with respect target.

I guess you are using the 3.x flow. here delta is only source-dependant. You have to extract delta to all targets at the same time. There is no provision to load to different targets at different time.

In 7.x flow, delta is source and target dependant. The load from the source is only till the PSA and from there you can load to different targets at different time.

Hi,

Delta pointer is setup based on Data source not for an Info cube..hence if you map between one DS and Multiple Cubes then in the PSA request it would set delta pointer based on the target...

I am assuming that this BI7.x flow....
