How to re-use the existing components in Data Integrator

Former Member

Hi,

Currently we are using Data Integrator 11.7 as our ETL tool for loading the data marts in data warehouse. The existing job has been running daily. Now we need to setup another job that uses the totally same logic and target tables, also, the source tables have the same column names, table names but under different schema. I am wondering there is a better way we can re-use the existing dataflows and workflows without copy them and maintain them in different places.

Thanks in advance!

Ang Ji

Hi Dirasa,

Thanks for your responses.

I understand your point. However, the job is scheduled to run automatically. We cann't do the change for the system configuration manually.

Now, we resolve this by using views that could dynamically point to different schema instead of tables.

Dear Ang Ji,

We can add system configuration to a job even if it is scheduled.

Dear Ang Ji,

Instead of replicating your job, We can go ahead with having more configurations on your data store containing source tables .

-

>Right click on your source datastore .

-

>EDIT .

-

>CLICK ON ADVANCED TAB .

-

>AGAIN CLICK ON EDIT TAB (adjacent to configurations).

-

>CLICK ON NEW CONFIGURATION (1st symbol ).

-

>GIVE YOUR SECOND DIFFERENT SCHEMA.

-

>CLICK APPLY BUTTON TWICE.

before runnig a job , define your system parameters

Go to tools -

>system parameters ---> Give name to your configuration and select the configuration under the each datastore.

Please mark this question as answered if my solution reaches your target.
