How to point iView to another...?

Hi, this is regarding the SAP personalization sample par from:<b>https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/ep/a-c/custom personalization dialogs</b> I'm just trying to figure out how to run it. I understand that I need to create an iView pointing to the 'selectionScreen.java' to make this example work. My question is how to create this new iView and what modifications to portalapp.xml?

My current iView, newIview.jsp:

<b><%@ taglib uri="tagLib" prefix="hbj" %>

<hbj:content id="myContext" >

<hbj:page title="Initial Page">

<hbj:form>

<hbj:button id="button" text="Go to selection Screen" onClick=""/>

</hbj:form>

</hbj:page>

</hbj:content></b>

My current portalapp.xml:

<b><?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<property name="startup" value="true"/>

<property name="SharingReference" value="htmlb"/>

<components>

<component name="default">

<component-config>

<property name="ClassName" value="output"/>

<property name="SecurityZone" value="com.sap.portal.pdk/low_safety"/>

</component-config>

<component-profile>

<property name="PersonalizationClass" value="selectionScreen"/>

<property name="selectedval" value=""/>

<property name="personalization" value="no-dialog"/>

</component-profile>

</component>

</components>

<services/>

</b>

Any samples or comments are greatly greatly appreciated! This is actually a continuation of this question: <b>How to set up sap personalization par...? </b>

Thanks so much!

Baggett,

There is nothing you do on your java side. You have to create an iView and add it to a page. Why don't you read the email i sent. The iView and pages are created via portal under Content Administration. Baggett, you seriously need to take some class with SAP to clear your concepts. If you are in U.S. then send me a email with your phone number, i will call you.

Thanks Prakash, I just read you email, thanks again for your comments. My understanding is quite low right now for SAP, hopefully, through more questions and my own reading, I will get better. Thanks again so much for your help Prakash!

Thanks so much again,

Baggett.

Just do a search on <b>Rick Swan</b> and go through all of his E-books.

Hi Prakash thank you so much for your tremendous help, you have helped me out so much in many questions!

Regarding the default.properties file, I didn't use it but the iView personalization still seems to work, do you know if I'm suppose to use it? I will do some research on this also.

Thanks so much,

Baggett.

Don't worry about default.properties.
