How to implement additional booking periods (More than 12) in SAC and Datasphere?

Hi all,

we are currently working on a reporting using SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere with data coming from S/4HANA.

In S/4HANA it is possible to work with additional booking periods (More than the typical 12 month booking periods). We have the requirement to report these additional booking periods using SAP Analytics Cloud and Datasphere. As there is barely any information or blogs regarding this and no standard solution available in SAC/Datasphere, we were wondering if someone worked on a similar solution before or if there are any best practices for this kind of implementation.

Any help is much appreciated!

Best regards

Hi,

same as 1-12 periods :). You just load the transactional data with all (I assume 1-16) periods, create a FACT View, then a Model and consume the data in SAC. There is nothing special in DSP nor SAC.

Not sure if I understood the question / issue however, what difficulties are you running into?

Cheers, Martin

Hi Martin. Thank you for your response. The difficulty is that we also need these additional booking periods in Filters, Planning etc. Therefore, we need to maintain them in the master data as well. As William mentioned, in SAC it seems to be possible to customize the default time tables, but not in the Datasphere

Achso. Then create your own association on top of the time-tables. Based on CSV f.e. Or add the periods 13-16 via union all. And associate this new view to your model-view. This way you will have two different time-associations in the system, but the second will be for the periods 13-16. Another option is fiscal calendar, which contains these special periods used in CO.
