How to get HANA 1.0 database out of SAP cloud platform

Hello,

I'm trying to find information about getting a database out of the SAP cloud platform, to bring it back on-premises.

Currently, I have built a solution based on HANA and built on SAP Cloud platform. My POC is now over so I'd like to bring the Whole Hana database content on-premises, before removing my POC Hana instance.

I wonder how to do that and what would be the cost ( if any ) .

What would be the options available to do this ?

I'm thinking of :

- Having a database dump provided by SAP , so I can restore it in my HDB on-premises

- Or HSR from SCP to on-premises if available,

- Using tools like SLT / SDI to replicate the whole data from SAP cloud platform to on-premises.

Do you know what are the options available and supported to do so ?

I can find loads of information to do it the other way round , ie from on-prem to SAP Cloud Platform, but can't find much related to SAP Cloud platform to on-premises.

Thanks & Best regards,

Hi and welcome to the SAP Community!

Thank you for visiting SAP Community to get answers to your questions. Since you're asking a question here for the first time, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with https://community.sap.com/resources/questions-and-answers (if you haven't already), as it provides tips for preparing questions that draw responses from our members. For example, you can outline what steps you took to find answers (and why they weren't helpful) and share screenshots of what you've seen/done. The more details you provide, the more likely it is that members will be able to assist you.
Should you wish, you can revise your question by selecting Actions, then Edit (although once someone answers your question, you'll lose the ability to edit the question -- but if that happens, you can leave more details in a comment).

Finally, if you're hoping to connect with readers, please consider adding a picture to your profile as it encourages readers to respond to you. Here's how you do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5JdUbyjfMA&list=PLpQebylHrdh5s3gwy-h6RtymfDpoz3vDS.

Hi,

Are you in CF neo or CF environments?

It is on a NEO environment.

But just to let you know, I finally was able to get a dump of my hana DB by requesting it through a message in SAP support .

Still I have a question around this topic : Is there any way to have a quarantee from SAP that an adhoc database dump can be provided at a specified date ?

Let's say I want an adhoc dump of my database on the 23rd of Jan (next week ). Can I have a garantee from SAP that this backup will be taken and made available on that date ?

Does such a process exist ?

Hi Jhon,

Were you able to import the dump to your on-premise HANA? What is the version of your on-premise HANA system?

Thanks

What about just connect your Hana Studio and save locally a DB Backup which then can be restored wherever you need it (as long as it´s also a Hana 1.x System)?

Best regards
