XMI uses indexed entities, so you'd likely not be able to report off it directly as XML via CR4E.

Thanks ted,

may be i will give you some more information on this..

"We are using the EMF,GEF in model creation and storing the data in the form of XMI file. Now i would like to generate the report or documentation for the model object." for this requirement how do i proceed..?

1) Whether should i convert XMI into XML and XSD files and then report on that..? (possibility don't know)

2) Is there any other way to do this..?

Thanks,

Hi Kondal,

Just want to appologise, I skimmed over the topic and read it as XML, even though clearly it says XMI

XMI is XML with a specified format.

Looking at the XMI format definition for the XML, it doesn't appear if it will automatically be consumed by Crystal.

Crystal expects relational, rather than hierarchial, data - so you'd need to find a way of exposing the data within XMI as a relational dataset.

and have come across your same question in like 5 different threads. Surely one is enough?
