Dear Vamshi,

To categorize the problem , you need to analyze the logs properly and scenario.

There are some issues which need to be analyze by both Basis and Functional.

On basis of experience

- Error related to Job failure - BASIS, (BASIS/ABAPER/FUNCTIONAL if the issue is with Z* progarm)

If the job failed with memory utilization , timeout , taking long time will come to basis afterward it will be handed over to ABAPER or functional based on the scenario and error.

- IDOCS are getting hang : We need to check the RFC, trfc , Inbound ,outbound queues.

- Printer Issue will go to Basis but format of Smartforms and layout should go to ABAPER

- System is getting Hang on running a report or running BW load , then BASIS should initially check the system

  i. how many dialog work process occupied during the load.

ii. Generate a SQL trace and check sequential read at database level

iii. Checking DB lock time for the report and deadlock

Accordingly involve the ABAPER which in turn call the functional for tunning the program.

- ERROR related to RFC (BASIS)

- System performance issue due to hardware resources and memory - BASIS

- Transport related issue - BASIS

- System got hang in a particular time - BASIS

- Full GC is occurring several time - BASIS

- Issue with the SSO and Certificate - BASIS.

- ISSUE with Payroll - HR Consultant

- SICF services are not opening - BASIS

Rest depends on how many error you have face in your career.
