(1) Is there a way to make a copy of a process?
Which leads to two sub questions:
(1a) Can you make a copy of a process within the same process project? and
(2a) Can you copy of a process to another process project?
In my installed version of Developer Studio, there is no "copy" option in the context menu of a process.
Hi Patrik,
So you are trying to do this in "Process Composer" perspective and "Project Explorer" view.
Maybe you can try in "Navigator" view.

bad idea above.....
So i try in another way.
New a "second process", open the first process diagram,
you can select all you events activities or just select your pool, then copy them from this diagram view to the second process diagram view.

Hi Patrick,
you do not have the option of copying the process from the project explorer view, instead what you ca do is create a new process and copy the artifacts from the diagram area (if you want whole process copy ALL the artifacts) from the existing process and paste them in your newly created processes diagram area.
Hope this answered your question.

Harsha

Hello Fisher, Harsha,
thank you for your tips. However, copying all the artifacts from one process into a blank process leaves you with a lot of work. You have to re-do all data mappings and if you copy over to another project, you also have to re-create the tasks.
We have to copy to a new project because there is sometimes a bug in the BPMN compiler which crashes with a NULL pointer exception. Once this error occurs, the only workaround we found was to re-model the process in a new project. That is why I was asking.
Regards,
Patrik
