Dear everyone

In the R3 system ,there are two application component hierarchies under datasources sub-tree,SAP application component and Aapplication component.I know the SAP

Application Components and Application Components are partner, all of them are same. The Application Components are created by using the function "Transferring the Application Component Hierarchy " .But I think the Application Components are not necessary and want to delete it.however I don't know how much affect of deleting the Application Components .

Could someone give me a good suggestion for this ? If you think this Application Component is necessary ,please tell me good reasons.

Thanks.

Best regards

alpha,

the application component hierarchy should sort out your datasources based on what SAP has set with regards to how to classify which datasources. but if you don't want to transport them, it should be okay, but be warned that you may be faced with a very messy setup (i.e., all datasources stored in just one area).

this application component hierarchy also exists in BW for the same purpose. if you decide not to transport that, then that would really be messy.

my advice is to just keep the hierarchy. if you want to trim down some of them, just bear in mind the possibilities.

and since you're a bit new here, you should remember to give out points to those that help you. 😃

You are right ,and i get one note from sap , create one program to delete the component hierarchy that recorded in table rodsappl and rodsapp. But i don't know why SAP set the function that is not very utility .

alpha,

but why would you need to remove the unused ones? they won't cause you problems, would they?

alpha,

this is so much trouble for something trivial - why don't you just say no? we don't have to give in to every whim they might fancy, most particularly those that are too meaningless to bother with (such as this imho).

anyway... don't forget to give out points. 😃
