Can anybody plz let me know how to assign a role to an user?

Just go to User_administration
Search for your user.Click edit on the right.
Then search in the roles that you get and assign the required ones.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
