How is SAP HANA Live content delivered/installed?

Hello experts, there seems to be a lot of materials out there explaining the various components that are available for "HANA Live", which in my mind equates to a set of predefined calculation views that sit on the respective source system tables. In the Suite on HANA scenario, the ECC tables can be consumed by the views in order to speed up implementation.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_hba/helpdata/en/8d/60d3289497430c86bc1465662559c8/frameset.htm

My question is simply - how are these HANA Live models delivered? How would one make use of these?

From a BW perspective, business content would need to be installed using a tcode. From a HANA perspective, are these delivered in the "sap" content package with any given HANA appliance or are there extra licensing implications for the use of the models, like RDS service?

Depending on the answer to the delivery question above, would these also be delivered for HANA implementations in a sidecar approach?

Thanks,

Justin

I believe I have found the answer, thought I would share here.

See the http://help.sap.com/hba, Administrator’s Guide. In section 2 of that document there is a detailed explanation of the procedure.

My guess would be then after the content is installed in HANA, i would show up under the sap.hba.ecc content package. I have not seen it yet, maybe someone else can confirm the above.

Thanks,

Justin

Hi Justin,

Yes, follow the PDF and SAP Notes informed on it to load tables (if you aren't running Suite on HANA).

There are also other prerequisites like run scripts.

The deploy part itself is Import on Studio.

Hi Fernando - Thanks for the response, there are two items in question that are not in the document that we are referring to, can you describe more?

What are the other prerequisites "run scripts" you mention?

Can you elaborate more on the import step in Studio?

Thanks,

Justin

Hi Justin,

The "run scripts" is grant operations, and some creations to deploy the explorer (SAP HANA Live Browser) a tool you can use to be familiar with the model delivered by SAP Live.

I don't have the SAP Note number in mind but there's some attachments points to script, I'll dig a bit.

About import the Studio. With  the .tgz in hand you just log into Studio and use option File -> Import to access the wizard to import the delivery unit (.tgz). The import and activation will happens in one step.
