How can i enable the trace for OpenDocument URL

Former Member

When i trying to view the document through OpenDocument URL getting an error message "An error occured. Error occured while trying to view the document". But when i verified throguh infoview/cmc able to view the report with out any error for the same user.

I verified access level and the user have required access rights "view access, View Objects" etc..

I enabled the trace for the servers "Crystal Processing Server, Crystal Cache Server, CMS server, Report Application Server", but i didn't see any useful information.

I'm facing the issue with Crystal Reports and didn't try with WEBI reports.

Is there any way to debug the issue and any path to enable the trace

Hi Manas,

Could you post some more information:

1. Can you specify the URL that you are using to as open dcoument link.

2. If you try to open the report using  just the document id , does it opens the documnet or throws ands error. (as below)

For BI  4.0:

http://<servername>:<port>/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=<ID of the report>

For BI 3.1

http://server:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=<ID of report>

for eg:

http://myserver:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=675

Hi RVS,

I integrated BO to my application. When i tried to open the instance through my app using OpenDocument URL, it asking the login credentials (generally it should not). Once if i provide the credentials navigating to the error page.

I'm using the BOXI 3.1 with SP6.

Below are the url's captured when i tried to see the instance

http://myserver.com:8080//PlatformServices/service/app/logon.do?appKind=InfoView&service=%2FOpenDocu...

http://myserver.com:8080//OpenDocument/appService.do?service=skinning&resource=stylesheet

Thanks,

Pradeep.

2. Can you try using the using the below

Hi,

What happens if you execute the open document url directly in the browser. Are you able to access the reports from the browser?

This check is required, to figure out if this is because of the application or from the OpenDocument application side.

Thanks,

Prithvi

Hi Manas,

Login into CMC and go to Open Document under applications. Verify if the url mentioned is correct. Also is it happening with administrator account ?

Hi Ambarish,

I didn't see any option "Open Document" under applications. I didn't try with administrator account but i tried with an account having administrator permissions.

Thanks,

Pradeep.

Hi,

usually this error is related with a typo on the OpenDoc URL.

Please answer also which Version of SAP BI you are using with which SP and or Patch.

For tracing the OpenDocument Interface please follow this information:
