Housekeeping of Technical content

Dear Experts,

Our cubes of Technical Content is growing very fast. What do you propose for housekeeping?

Hi Thomas,

Below are few points we will consider:

1) Compress requests older than 15day for statistics cubes is recommended

2) Compress requests with “Zero Elimination” is recommended

3) Query runtimes generally deteriorate if there are too many records, simply because the individual database tables get too big. If possible from a business perspective, archive or delete data that is no longer relevant for reporting.

4) Frequent deleteion of Statistics data is recommended. Recommended to maintain 6 months to 2 years data (Based on client requirement)

regarding Point 4: you mean selective deletions on the concerned cubes or is there a Report from SAP in place?

Hi Thomas,

concerned cubes. Identify largest cubes and take the necessary action i.e. Archiving or Selective deletion (Depending on businss and client requirements)
