Hi Friends...
Might sound lil dumb..but..thanks to internet...I can hide behind my laptop screen.
Ok..
1) What is the diff between a Hierarchy Variable and a Hierarchy node variable? (might just mean wat it says!!! but pl explain..)
2)Which one to use when.?
If we wnat to use a query variable to dig into any level of a hierarchy...which one needs to be used..and how
I'm on 3.5....and I cant see a H node variable option..is SAP done with that?
a lil details steps to do the same is very very apprecaited..

Hi Led,
Lets say 0MATERIAL has 3 hierarchies in your system H1, H2 and H3. Using a hierarchy variable you cna make a selection for which hierarchy you want to see in your report. The hierarchy node variable acts after the hierarchy variable. So if you selected hierarchy H2, then you get the option to choose which particular node in H2 you want to see in the report.
In the query designer you can right click on a char to restrict it. Then choose hierarchy instead of single values and you will be able to see hierarchies and the variable tab will have the hierarchy variables.
