We are looking to install HPE systems. Where other brands are required to have a storage pool from 5 ssd's 400gb each, HPE systems need 5 times as much storage, for what reasons? The difference is quite excessive.
Also, a raid configuration of 4 x 1.8TB in raid 50 modus is required, however, raid50 can only be created with 6 drives minimal, so that woulde be a mistake.
Is the description in the guide wrong? What would actually be the minimal requirements?
Thanks for your time and help.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Best to reach out to HPE regarding hardware specs.
For a good introduction to SAP HANA Sizing, see
Slide 43 lists further references (or you can contact the author).
Storage requirements are usually calculated on the basis of application requirements (Suite, Business Warehouse, etc.)

Dear Denys,
Thanks for you answer. HPE is not the one who created hardware requirements for SAP software.
I'm wondering why the requirements for storage , are 5 times as high for the same software with HPE as for other brands. Besides that, raid 50 with 4 discs is not possible.
Also the required storage for all servers is the same for either 35 or 350 users.
CPU is divided in 2 options, Ram nicely upgrades allong every step of more users, but storage space is all the same.
