Hi Chaps Surprisingly i got question in my mind after come across with HANA updates in Sdn.. Of course yet to be clear few more. Is it an alternative for BW??? Or its an add on which replaces BWA and DB?? I mean to say to get the data from source directly by maintain relation similar to our RDA..? Is it the root like R/3 -> HANA-> BO or is it like R/3 -> BW->HANA-->BO ??? which is the right path in case of historical data .. Thanks K M R Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler." Kindly study a link that Vitaliy provided. Also you can find a lot of information e.g:

Just to answer your question in few words: HANA is not supposed to be BW/BWA replacement. More less it is successor of them. . It can be set up on top of SAP ERP or BW system (or non SAP databases) without necessity to materialize data via transformations as in contrary to current DWH solutions.
