HANA Cloud - error alerts

I have a set of stored procedures and flowgraphs which are running and loading data on an intraday basis. If there is an error with the processes I would like to alert someone that something has gone wrong and that they need to investigate.

What is the recommended way to do this?

One approach might be to make use of the following two SAP BTP services:

  • SAP Automation Pilot
  • SAP Alert Notification Service

The SAP Automation Pilot can be used to build a command that could connect to your SAP HANA Cloud database and perhaps check a table that contains details of previous runs. This command could be scheduled. If it detects an error, it can trigger a SAP Alert Notification subscription which could send an email, post to a Microsoft Teams or Slack channel, or even create a ticket.

The following tutorial group provides an example of using these services with SAP HANA Cloud.
