Got a Portal runtime error while using JSPDynepage

Former Member

Hi,

Please help me out in the this error which I got when I tried to run the component developed based on JSPDynePage. I developed the component in the Developer Studio (version 2.0.4) in my local machine, built the project and deployed in the remote server using the option "Quick PAR Upload".

It says JSP file could not be found.

Thanks in advance

Sushma

Hi,

I got it. dev studio put the jsp files in Project\private\pagelet folder.

But SP7 expects the files to be in project\dist\PORTAL_INF\pagelet folder.

That is the root cause of the error.

Move the jsp files to Portalinf\pagelet. It resolves the problem.

Don't forget to give points.

Hi Sushma,

try deleting your D:\usr\sap\NPL\JC03\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\Bean_Test1\work

directory.

If that doesn't help, try deploying your par file via Component Manager.

If that doesn't help, please post the corresponding error message from the log file and post your portalapp.xml.

What is the SP of your J2EEEngine 6.30?

regards, Karsten

Hi Karsten,

We are using SP7 Netweaver '04 and I couldnot find the work folder which you have mentioned to delete. And I have not used Component Manager before. If I am not mistaken this is under the Content Administration which I dont have access to this and I have access only to Portal Content Studio.

The following are the contents of the portalapp.xml file:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<application>

<application-config>

<property name="PrivateSharingReference" value="com.sap.portal.htmlb"/>

</application-config>

<components>

<component name="Bean_Test1">

<component-config>

<property name="ClassName" value="Bean_Test1"/>

<property name="SecurityZone" value="Bean_Test1/high_safety"/>

<property name="ComponentType" value="jspnative"/>

<property name="JSP" value="pagelet/BeanJsp.jsp"/>

</component-config>

<component-profile/>

</component>

</components>

<services/>

</application>

Thanks,

Sushma

Hi Sushma,

the work folder should be on the portal server, if we can trust the error message

Moreover, the version of your Developer Studio doesn't match your server version, which is SP7. But that shouldn't be the problem.

The Component manager is part of the java developer role, which you at least should have.

Seems like your jsp file can't be found. If you're using the JSPDynpage approach, kill these two lines:

<property name="ComponentType" value="jspnative"/>

<property name="JSP" value="pagelet/BeanJsp.jsp"/>
