Getting prompted to register CR while using Visual Studio 2008?

I have a Visual Studio 2008 application that utilizes a few crystal reports. In creating my 3rd report for this application, I suddenly got propmpted to register this version of CR. I've never had that happen before. I followed the instructions on registering it by creating a profile on the SAP website. Keep in mind this is a desktop application and not a web application. Anyway, I filled out the profile info and it said it would send me the registration number. However, that was a couple of days ago and I've yet to receive this registration #.

Aynone ever encountered this before? What was the work-around?

Thanks,

Blake

I also upgraded my Crystal Reports to CR 2008, registered 3 weeks ago, was working in Visual Studio 2008 without issue, and was suddenly prompted to register my copy of Crystal Reports. It says I have 1 day left.

Sounds like you may be working with an eval keycode. Find the keycodemanager.exe in the c:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86 directory. Run the exe. It will give you the keycode number it is working with. If you have a non eval keycode compare the two. If they are different enter your permanent keycode. If htey are the same, call sales (866-681-3435) and have them figure out the keycode you need.

Ludek's solution resolved JJ PPP's issue which is the full CR 2008 version and not the CR Basic version this posts originally problem was.

Thank you

To minimize any confusion I should have requested a new thread be created on this as per the [Rules of Engagement|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/home/rulesofEngagement]. I was pretty sure I had the solution correctly identified, but a new thread would have been nice.

Hi Blake,

That's odd. Do you have or ever had any other version of CR on that PC?

Try doing a repair install of VS 2008, it should fix any keycode dll issues. Also, there is a Service Pack 1 for VS 2008:

Readme is here:

Thank you
