Generating Authorizations in BI

Had any one got a chance to use the "Generation" option under the transaction RSECADMIN.If yes, can you pls. send me the details like what are the pre-steps and how is it going to be useful.

Hi Vasan,

if you know the generation option via RSSM in the older releases: It is the same.

If you don't know: The concept is: Load authorization data from somewhere (some source system) with users and values for defined authorization relevant InfoObjects into DataStore Objects (former ODS Objects) and let the system generate the authorizations accordingly. The idea is to minimize maintenance esp. in the area where you have many users and the authorizations are already defined elsewhere (in some source system or via a file).

Dear Klaus,

Could you kindly explain a little bit more in detail?. When generating this authorizations, users get created, as well as the analysis authorizations, and the both of them are combined and assigned as uploaded in a file?.
