Dear all,

I want to have the end value of a certain period of time. In the example below I show you what I mean: (As an example I want to see the value of the period 11.2006-03.2007)

for the period 11.2006 I want to have the sum of 1.2006,2.2006,...,10.2006,11.2006

for the period 12.2006 I want to see the sum of 1.2006,2.2006,...,11.2006,12.2006

for the period 01.2007 I want to have the sum of 01.2007

for the period 02.2007 I want to have the sum of 01.2007+02.2007

for the period 03.2007 I want to have the sum of 01.200702.200703.2007

(as an end value I want to see the sum of all values together.)

There are offset values available for previous year to date and year to date.

Is there an opporunity to make a kind of formula for this issue? Where I can insert an from/ to selection and the system makes a sum of all the values like in my example above?

I don't want a formula only for this selection, but for any other selection like from 02.2006 to 05.2006 or from 04.2006 to 06.2007.

Hopefully someone knows the answer to my question!?

Thanks in advance,

Jens Bevers

Hi Jens,

From whatever I understood, you need the cumulative value until the period specified.

For this

1. Start creating a new selection or formula with the keyfigure

2. Go to the calculations tab and Check the cumulative checkbox

3. In the calculation direction you can specify the Calculate along rows.

Now when you have the period in the rows, then you will get cumulative value until that period. you can also try using the "Also apply for results" checkbox"

Hi Uday,

Thank you for your reaction but I already tried all the options you gave me but none of these is a solution to my issue.

Maybe when I explain a little bit more you better understand my problem.

When I want to have the end-value of the selection 01.2006 till 04.2006:

And the value for 01.2006 is 10,

the value for 02.2006 is 20,

the value for 03.2006 is 20,

the value for 04.2006 is 40.

I need to have a formula which gives the cumulative value of this selection. So I want to see the end value of the selection 01.2006 till 04.2006 which is:

value 10 for 01.2006

value 30 for 02.2006 (10+20)

value 50 for 03.2006 (102020)

value 90 for 04.2006 (102020+40)

So the end value of this selection is 103050+90= 180.

Do you know if there is a possibility to make a formula for this in BW? Or do you know an other solution to this issue?

Thanks in advance,

Jens Bevers
