force display of personalized values in variable screen

Hi,

We are from time to time getting "error reports" from users saying that a selection criteria is missing in the variable selection screen. The reason is very often that they have accidently personalized a variable and is therefor not shown. Clickin the button "all" in web variable screen, displays them again. I would like that the variable sceen is by default showing "All" and not the opposite as now. Then the users just can verify that the personalized value is ok and press execute.

Does anybody know if you can change this setting?

Personalization in BEx

Use

This function enables users to fill variables with user-specific values, to save user-specific accesses to BW objects for the history view in the BEx Open dialog box, and to save user-specific start views for Web applications.

Integration

The personalized data is stored in different ODS objects, according to the personalization area.

User-specific variable values are stored in the ODS object 0Pers_VAR.

Personalized data for the history view is stored in the ODS object 0Pers_BOD.

Personalized start views for the Web application is stored in the ODS object 0Pers_WTE.

You manage ODS objects in the Administrator Workbench.

Prerequisites

You have to activate personalization in Customizing before you can use it. See the implementation guide (IMG) for the Business Information Warehouse (BW Customizing ® Implementation Guide ® Business Information Warehouse ® Reporting-relevant Settings ® General Reporting Settings ® Activate Personalization in BEx).

In order to personalize start views for Web applications, you also have to activate the context menu entry Personalize Web Page in the Web Application Designer. See Personalizing Start Views of Web Applications.

When personalizing variables you assign a permanent user-specific value to the variables that cannot be changed in query navigation.

Variables can be personalized as follows:

By the user during runtime (see Personalizing Variables)

By the administrator by loading files or using generic DataSources (see Customizing of Extractors under the SAP Easy Access Menu BW Administration ® Administrator Workbench ® Source Systems ® Source system context menu ® Customizing for the Extractors..., node Generic DataSources).

By using DataSources delivered with Business Content (see, for example, Personalizing Characteristic Values in the BW (Web Cockpit) from the Financials area of Business Content).

By personalizing the history view in the BEx Open Dialog you can select BW objects from those that you opened recently (queries, Web templates, stored query views) from your history.

You activate personalization of the history view in the BEx Open dialog in Customizing and do not need to make any additional settings.

By personalizing the start views of Web applications, you can save a user-specific navigational state in a Web applications as a personalized start view of the Web application.
