Please let me know the main difference between focused Build and JIRA tool as project management. Why focused Build is not preferable as individual project management tool. I have always seen its integrated with JIRA for agile project management.

Hi Manju,

you will get the main benefits out of Focused Build if you use the whole methodology with all capabilities instead of using just one piece, that's why you may have heard that Focused Build Project Management standalone is not preferable. As you have written correctly it is possible to connect Focused Build with Jira, the desired use case is that we want to support customers who have always worked in Jira to stay there with the creation of Requirements and synchronize them afterwards to Focused Build to continue in our tool with the implementation process. Compared with Jira the integration to the backend tools like S/4HANA is definitely deeper with Focused Build and allows an easier deployment of transport requests.

Best regards,

Joerg

Focused Build and JIRA are both used for project management, but they do different things. Focused Build is a built-in tool in SAP Solution Manager that works only with SAP projects. It supports SAP projects in a wide range of ways, with tools such as blueprinting, test management, and release management.

Focused Build is great at handling the complexities of SAP solutions, making sure that teams with a SAP-focused setting have a smooth release process. On the other hand, JIRA is a flexible project management tool that is used in a wide range of businesses and project types. It is known for being flexible, having a lot of customization choices, and being able to be used with a lot of different project management methods, such as agile.

Focused Build works great in the SAP ecosystem, but because it is so specialized, it might not be the best choice for projects outside of the SAP ecosystem. Focused Build and JIRA being combined is a smart move that takes advantage of the best parts of both. Focused Build can be used for SAP-specific tasks, and JIRA can be used for general agile project management. With this combination, companies can use the specific features of Focused Build while still taking advantage of JIRA's overall adaptability and freedom.
