Hello
I am loading a cube through a flat file. For each field in the flat file, I have created a Z infoobject in BW. Eg - I have ZMATERIAL, ZPLANT and ZMARKET.
Now there are 2 navigational attributes of "0MATERIAL" that are also required in the cube. How can I get these nav attributes into the cube? Do I have to load 0MATERIAL into the cube from R/3 also? The values of these nav attributes cannot be directly provided to us from the flat file.
Thank you
Alex.
Request clarification before answering.
You can load the Nav attributed thru File Also. BUt in your case, since you are not getting the value in the Flat file, you have to laod it thru R3. Use the datasource 0MATERIAL_ATTR to load these attributes. Make sure that you have maintained these two attributes as navigational attributes inb the ZMATERAIL infoobject tab.
Also, you have to check these two attributes as navigational in the cube.
Thanks...

hi,
U will have to do 2 things:
1) make sure that u include those 2 attributes as navigational attributes while defining ur cube.
2) maintain master data for them.
u can upload the master data from flat file or do it from r3.
Once u have uploaded the master data it will be available for reporting via cube as u have included teh 2 attributes as navigational attributes.

VJ

Hi,
If the respective master data is getting loaded from R3 then u dont need to worry about these Nav Attr. As ur cube wil take these values directly from the respective Master data tables.
So just check whether the Corresponding master data is getting loaded and activated in BW or not!! if not then try to schedule those loads as well for ur purpose.
thanks
Hope this helps

Hi,
In update rules for these navigational attributes, give look ups from material master data and populate them if u cant include them in flat file.
