Fiori News Tile - no articles displayed

Hi,

I'm trying to integrate the News Tile App to my Fiori launchpage.

For test reasons I added the feed "https://scn.sap.com/community/feeds/allcontent?community=2421", but the system does not display any articles in the launchpage.

Also when I try to start the News Tile App, I get the error "Failure - unable to start app". Maybe that is a follow up error.

I'm using the SAP_UI component with SP07.

And of course the system is connected to www πŸ˜‰

Thx.

Hi Florian,

Can you share your tile setting and target mapping?

Hi Masa,

here is my News tile setting.

I think I do not need a target mapping for that, or?

Also on page Configuring News Tile - SAP Fiori Launchpad - SAP Library it is not described.

Thx, Florian

I get the following error:

Looks like you are getting a javascript cross domain issue, as the data is on different server.

Just to test you can temporarily disable in Chrome.

Many thanks,

Hi Jason,

also in the test mode it does not work. Still the same error.

Do you get the same error? The error implies it's cross domain error.

Yes, it is the same error.

It might be worth double checking that the same origin policy is definitely disabled.

I normally make sure all the windows are closed, before starting, as I've had a few instances where it didn't seem to pick up the setting.

Hi Jason,

thx. It works now.

Is there any solution to avoid the "SOP problem" without e.g. using a reserves proxy?

There are a few options, I think a reverse proxy is normally the best option, however if you can modify the HTTP header of the feed then Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) might be possible.

Is that issue is resolved for you?

FYI: I'm able to see the ribbon coming and going in that tile but unable to see in detail.

Any clue?

Hello Mahendra,

where you able to solve the News Tile issue? I face exactly the same error.

Any hint would be welcome.

Hi Oliver,

Yes, issue is resolved with the help of a SAP Note # 1968559

Although, after the upgrade of SAP_UI and SAP_GWFND, I'm getting an error as below,

"Could not start the app due to an internal error"

Working on it but yes, the above mentioned SAP note is applicable if you are not on latest UI and GWFND components

Hope it will help.

Thanking you,

~ Mahendra

Hello Folks,

SAP has released a Note to overcome from the Error "Failure- Unable to start App" for News Tile. Please implement SAP Note: 2065811

2065811 - Navigation from News Tile to detail page not working

Hope this will help.

Thanking you,

~ Mahendra
