hi,can anybody tell me what do we mean 'filters'.please give 1 scnario wher we can use filter
hi santosh
filters are meant to restrict the information display to user according to his requirements
for eg if a sales person wants to view information region wise
we can use a filter and display info for that particular region only.
this is also done if we need to restrict user to observe and analyse on particular set of information . for eg a manager can be restricted to watch only the employees under him by means of filter
hope this clarifys

Hi
See this
Filter is not selecting certain values of kfs for certain char.
Example....You can create a filter for customer hierarchy version planned
If you have two hiereachies for customer, you can run the query for actual version only ( Plan and actual version of customer hierarchy for the customer - assume)
Hope this helps

Hi,
I am assuming you are talking abt the Filters in Reporting. Filters are used to restrict the display of the data records. For example you need to restrict the data for the total sales from X company code and Y sales District for a Z material.
You select the filters on above variables and execute the report.
Assign points if it helps

Santosh,
'Filter' in reporting means limiting to a particular category of values or a characteristic. Suppose you have to prepare a report which is country specific. You can prepare one report but filter it with diff values of diff countries. The char Country can have diff values like US, IN, UKand so on.....When you filter the country object with IN, values related to IN only will be displayed in the report. Will filter the by restricting the object with only IN.
Hope I am clear....
