FI_GL_4 - No records in delta

I am using datasources FI_GL_4 and FI_AP_4 for delta loads from 3 R3 instances. I set my process chain to run at 15 minutes after midnight and got no records. I changed to time to 1:00am and again got no records.

Is there a 'waiting period' after which records are available to the delta?

Mary,

Thanks for that response - it is getting me very close to the answer I need.

Unfortunately, our 'window of opportunity' for scheduling jobs is getting very complex and being able to simply move the job to a later time is difficult due to other dependencies.

If anyone can provide me steps to look at the safety setting time(2:00am or 3:00am) and how to change that - I'll have a complete answer to my problem.

Many thanks!

Cheers -

Hi,

Let me know whether the table BWOM_SETTINGS and one of parameter BWFITIMBOR maintained in this table can clarify your doubt. For further information on this parameter see the following link.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/af/16533bbb15b762e10000000a114084/frameset.htm

This site says that Changing the default value for BWFITIMBOR is not recommended.

I am aware of the safety range. The issues is, however, that there are records in the delta queue. If I run the load at say 6:00am, I get the records. But if I run the load right after midnight or at 1:00 I do not get any records.

Today I had the load scheduled for 1:00am - no records were retrieved from the source system. I reran the load at 6:00am and got records from the source system.

It appears that something is going on in the R3 system right after midnight that prevents the records being extracted - or at least that is my guess.

It has been a while but I think the reference time for the 1 day safety value is 02:00 or 03:00am. this is a setting in BW and potentially can be changed but it is simplier to schdule your load after 3:00am when it is safely able to pull previous day's records.

Hope this helps, Mary

John,

Please refer to note 410797. The safety interval is usually 1 day but you can check your system setting. You would have to run GL_4 first and then the AR_4/AP_4.

Hi,

For FI_GL_4, there is a safety delta of 1 day. i.e. any DELTA/NEW record created now will come into BW only after 1 day from now. There should also be a safety delta for FI_AP_4.

Thanks.

Hi John,

I believe there is a technical imitiation for these extractors whereby you can get only the data of the previous day, i.e. data that is one day old.
