Federating Portal - P4 connection issue

While defining the Producer portal in the Consumer portal during Federating, the connection is through SAP Message Server and the P4 Communication setting are as follows:

P4 Connection : Load-balanced via SAP Message Server

P4 Security: None

Hostname: <hostname>

Port: <message server port #>

After registering the producer portal and trying to share content between the portals it errors as :

Could not create remote delta link to object'pcd:portal_content/Foldername/iView' 'Could not connect to producer portal. Please check that the producer portal is running, there are no network problems, and your consumer settings for the producer are configured properly.

But this worked when the connection was to a dispatcher node and P4 Communication settings are as follows:

P4 Connection: Connection String or Single Server

P4 Security: None

Hostname: <hostname>

Port: <http port #>

Is there anything we need to define that we are missing or any suggestions on how this can be made working?

Thanks.

What ports are you using? Don't forget the P4 port ends in 4.

Issue resolved , used the http port 81$$ ($$ instance number) from the <SID>_SCS<instance number>_hostname profile from

the \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile.
