External View, multi tenant access is possible?

Former Member

I am using Hana SP09.

I have scuccessfully  imported hana views by creating external views on  ERP tenant,

but when i try to access it in ABAP(Open SQL). The following err happens.

SQL error "SQL code: 258" occurred while accessing table "ZXXXXX"

It seems only external views which contains data from CRM tenant makes this error.

What I have done are following.

1. Creating calculation view(SQL script) in ERP tenant. The view is  calls data of table in CRM tenant.

2. Creating external views for the calculation view in ERP tenant.

3. Creating RFC function module in ERP tenant and access the external views in ABAP Open SQL.→Run time error happens.

Is it possible to access the data in different tenant by creating external view?

By the way, i can see the data of calculation view created in above step 1  in hana studio ( but can not access by abap).

I hope some one know the answer of my question...

Thank you,

Sayuri

Hi Sayuri,

Normally netweaver user is like SAPSID.

Did you made configuration for which user SAPSID will be on remote DB?

Is it possible to access the data in different tenant by creating external view?

External view is the mapping for netweaver of a HANA View on netweaver schema.

So the exactly answer for your question is NO, but a view on netweaver that internally access other tenant is a probably YES.

Dear Fernando Da Rós,

Thank you for your quick response.

'configration' you say is the transaction code:DBACOCKPIT??

I checked DBA cockpit in ERP system, and found the setting for ERP system.

So, now i know the name of database user of the ERP system.

How can i do to be able to access external view which internally access other tenant?

Should i add setting for CRM system in DBA cockpit on ERP system?

Or, should i add some privilege to the database user for ERP system in Hana studio?

Your information will be very helpful.

Thank you for advance,

Sayuri

Hi Sayuri,

No, I'm talking about remote user and configuration to select among servers.

This blog post from Former Member could clarify I was talking about.

Dear Fernando Da Rós.

We configured system user to be able to access other tenant.

Now, we can acsess external views from ABAP ope SQL without error.

Thank you very much for your great advice!

Best regards,

Sayuri
