I would like to SCHEDULE a file load into a BW System (on a Unix system) from some windows share
computer\share. It works fine if I choose "client workstation" and load directly but then I can't schedule. Any ideas how to do this from the application server with copying files?
In addition I would like to use logical filenames and I would like to use yesterday's files. In logical filenames it is no problem to define <DAY> from sy-datum but <DAY-1> or the like doesn't exist. (Renaming the file is not the elegant option I want to choose).

You can map a folder on the application server to shared directory and view it in AL11 (thereby You can schedule it in the background).
However You properly need some of the basis guys or someone who knows your network infrastructure to assists You in setting up the AL11 folder. Further more You need some sort of FTP service to transfer the files into the shared directory.
Hope it helps
