Hi SDN Community,
Do you know if it is possible to export the format of the data from the query, into an excel output.
Specifically, we would like to suppress the repeated keys when the export takes place into excel from BI 7 web reports.
Thank you.
Simon
Hi,
I guess you are using table in web template,if that is the case and you need to hide the repeated key values then there is one option just give a try it may be helpful in your case.
On the left hand side pane, you will find properties tab in that select your tab may be analysis item.Once you select that under internal display you will ne havng an option Display repeated texts---Just turn it off,it its on.
Hopefully it will serve your purpose.

AL

Hi,
You can suppress the result rows in the query designer->query properties. If it is already done check this setting:
In WAD ->go to Table properties (Tab)->Data specific settings-Display repeated texts.\
For the excel output format you can create your web query with reference using the standard web template which has the excel download format.
Hope this helps...

Thank you all for your info,
here is the SAP reply in OSS
Thank you for your detailed screenshot. For this issue, please
refer to the information provided from our developer:
***********************************
as we first shipped BI 7.0 Web the behaviour of exporting a pivot table
to excel was wrong. That means, if pivot table in web did not show
repeated text, this was true also for the exported excel document.
Many customers wrote us, that this is a bug from their perspective,
because most of them wanted to deal with the data in excel, e.g. to
use excel sorting of columns. In case of not repeated text this leads
to unreadable table. We solved this problem with SPS 9 => note 964609.
Since this SPS we ALWAYS repeat the texts in excel export. From our
perspective it now works as designed. The setting "do not repeat text"
in WAD is only valid for the HTML and PDF view, but not for data
oriented formats like Excel & CSV.
***********************************
So Export to Excel does not suppress repeated keys.
I can understand that this is not the expected solution that you want
but this is the behaviour as per design.
If you would like to have this functionality in SAP standard BW system
then you need to raise an development ticket as per below note
11 Requested function not contained in standard system.

So all the suggestions so far, have been merely formatting on the web, unless someone has done a call via a BAPI or other top the back end??
Thanks.
Simon
firstly, because the export to pdf does exactly as you see in the web,
11:09:07 AM◄we can do a pdf to excel conversion using softaare
11:09:11 AM◄http://download.cnet.com/PDF-to-Excel-Converter/3000-2079_4-10464282.html
11:09:23 AM◄the customer needs to buy this software or other
11:09:37 AM◄so, from the web, save to print (pdf) button
11:09:43 AM◄This saves it as a pdf file
11:10:01 AM◄Then you use the converter software to change pdf to excel
