Experience with Deleting Company Codes Before Go-Live

Dear SAP Community,

I am reaching out to see if anyone in this community has experience with the deletion of company codes in SAP public Cloud before the Go-Live phase. Currently, we only have our Customizing and Test systems in place, and we are considering this action to streamline our setup.

Has anyone successfully deleted company codes in a similar scenario? If so, I would greatly appreciate any insights, best practices, or potential pitfalls to be aware of during this process. Do we need to open an Incident with SAP for the deletion?

Organizational Structure is unforgiving. In the 2SL once created you cannot delete company codes.

Hi MaraS,

I don't think you can delete a company code in CBC. The reason is that when a company code is created in CBC, it sends that information to the S/4 side (your customizing and development tenants). After that, CBC does not know how this company code is used or associated with other objects. When you delete it from CBC afterwards, there is no way to clean it up COMPLETELY its effect on the S/4 side. The best you can do is to mark it obsolete or something like that in the description of the company.
