Hi All:

I have specified a value range of 48XXXXX accounts in a restiction. I want to exclude two single values in this range. How would I do this. Is this the exclude from selection command.

Do I put the range in first as a value range and then the two accounts as single values and then exclude from selection? Is there another way?

Hi,

the order doesn't matter....

First restrict with your range and then pull the two values you want to exclude in the right pane. Then right click on these and select "exclude".

You can also first pull thw two elements, exclude and then the interval; the result will be the same.

hope this helps...

Hi Bharat,

It is better to first specify the value range and then exclude.

(the database will first make a selection of the range, and the eclude the two. If you ndo it otherwise, the database will first select everything, exclude the two and then restrict to the range. This will take longer and will need more internal space)

To exclude select the two value and right mouseclick on the green = icon.

Hi There

I don't see any green = icon can you please attach a screen shot of what you are talking about. I can't seem to figure out how exclusions work in query designer.
