Hi all,
can any one please explain me the
1)main difference between an exception & condition.
2)also provide me with more information on filters.
thanks in advance,
Payal.
Hi Payal,
1. Exception are used for showing their status
Condition are using for filtering data.
2. Before execution of the query will cache the parameters of characteristics if you had specified at filters. Means query execution will take less time.

Hello Payal,
U can highlight particular values using exceptions in different colours. u can define ranges for a particular colour. so when value is in that range the it will be shown in the respective colour. U can also use reporting agent functionalities like mail generation etc when a the output is in a particular range!!!
Conditions are restrictions based on the characteristics. examples are top 5 vendors with highest purchases from them.
Filters are implemented at the execution beginning to restrict the output data according to the defined filters!!
eg. can be filter set on a date for a particular query. such query will have output records only pertaining to that date.
Hope this helps..
thanks

hi payal
Conditions:Conditions are treated as the filter with threshold value for the Characteristics.
Exception: Threshold values are the threshold vales for the characteristics with respect to the Key Figures with color coding.Used in Reporting agent.
Filter: Restricts the complete Info Object.
Thanks
Vikram
