estimated effort field in CR

Hi All,

Can we make the estimated effort field mandatory in Change Request?

We did validation for making it mandatory but there was a problem, when user tries to save the change request without entering the estimated effort, he will get an error message to enter it.

but when we get the error message for this field every other will be in display mode.

as this thid field only id open when user tries to enter value in it and then save the value is getting disappeared.

then again he has to enter the values. it is very tedious task to enter value again and again for the end user.

we tried finding any solution for this but could not escape this disappearing of values in this field for the first time we are saving.

can anything be done to avoid disappearing of the values.

solved
