Hi,

We are trying to connect to ECC clients(220 & 810) on different server with one Portal. The ESS applications for 220 is working fine.

For 810 client i maintained the below:

1. Copy all the iviews and pages of ESS in new folder.

2. Create all the resources ,services, subarea, area pages with Z.

3. Put the PCD path in each resource with new addres(Z).

4. Create a new ESS role that is "Employee Self-Service UPTL".

5. Assign the role to a user(810).

6. Created new Jco connections :

WD_MODELDATA_DESTUTL

SAP_R3_Travel_MetaDataUTL

SAP_R3_HumanResourcesUTL

SAP_R3_TravelUTL

SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaDataUTL

SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenericsUTL

WD_RFC_METADATA_DESTUTL

SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaDataUTL

7. Set the Application Parameters of iviews as follows:

a. Overview : sap.xss.menuargrp=ZSAPDEFAULTESS_ERP2005&sap.xss.menuhdr=SAPDEFAULT&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:UTL&sap-wdarfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=WD_MODELDATA_DEST:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST:UTL

b. Employee Search:

sap.xss.menuarea=ZEMPLOYEE_SEARCH_ERP2005&sap.xss.menuargrp=ZSAPDEFAULTESS_ERP2005&sap.xss.menuhdr=SAPDEFAULT&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData:UTL

c. Who's Who:

sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources:UTL&sap-wdarfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=WD_MODELDATA_DEST:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics:UTL&sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData:UTL

The Overview Page and Employee search is working fine but the who's who application is not working.

The error message is :

java.lang.NullPointerException

Hi all,

I resolved. This was due to typo error:

Old:

sap-wdarfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:UTL

New:

sap-wd-arfc-useSys=SAP_R3_HumanResources_MetaData:UTL

Thanks a lot all of you.

Anil,

Are you using ESS in this scenario?

How did you connect the java webdynpro's of ESS/MSS to the right JCO connection?

Hi Rob,

We have created Client depended JCO's

Thanks

Hi,

It is possible to have two clients connected with a single portal.

You have to create JCOs for each client with different names, create system for each client and update the property "Application parameter" in each view with the names of the jcos in it.

Thanks

Hi,

We have the same requirement in the current scenario i.e two different sets of users from two different clients (100 and 200) on same ECC wants to access the ESS and MSS services from a single portal instance.

At the moment, the ABAP UME is configured on portal wrto 100 client. In this case, would anyone let me know, how can the users of the 200 client can access the ESS & MSS service from the same portal?

Regards,

Venu
