Error on exporting a PAR file to portal

Former Member

I am trying to export a portal application (java code) to PAR file in the NWDS. i am getting the following error;-

<b>PAR Upload failed:Please make sure that portal server is running.

HTTPS is not supported ,please ensure the server is not using HTTPS</b>

The PAR file is to be uploaded to the portal later.

Note:The portal application has compiled successfully.

Is it not supported in this version of the portal?

Please help

Regards

Navneet

Hi Navneet

- Please make sure the Portal server is linked to this NWDS.

For that go to Window->Preferences->SAP J2EE Engine and give the correct parameters

- And make sure the portal server is running. You can check this from NWDS.

Open Web Dynpro perspective and in the left J2EE Engine view you can see the status of the J2EE server.

Regards

Ramesh.

Hello Navneet,

Check these threads:

If this does not help, try deploying from

System Administration-> Support-> Portal Runtime-> Administration Console.

At the option "Please specify a Portal Archive file (PAR) and press "upload" to store it into the PCD." Deploy your par file by giving the path.

i am not able to deploy because the par file is not yet created beacuse of that error.

any other suggestions....because the second link doesn't hold true. and first is related to deployment rather than par file creation.

hi Navneet,

go to the portalapps.xml file under the dist -> portal-inf folder.

add a property under the component profile for security level with value no-safety.

check whether it works.

Hi,

If your code compiled without problems, then there should not be any problem to create a par file.

As you see this message:

<b>Note:The portal application has compiled successfully.</b>

I would suggest to check if you already have a par file in your folder, which is locked and does not allow to be updated!

If so then, remove it manually and create the par again.

that is a nice tip.

i tried it by deleting the existing par file but the problem persists.

Has it got something to do with different verisons of portal?

Hi Navneet,

May be your server doesnt expect HTTPS. Are you using a firewall? If so switch off all firewalls and check if it works.

Also check if http port is enabled on WAS. You can check this through Visual Admin tool and checking http provider service.

Also after giving Quick par upload check your folder for the par file. If its created then you can upload thru System Admin->Support->Admin Console

Regards,

Pooja.
