Hi Gerrie,
Take a look if the timeouts is set properly. As you mentioned this occurs after the system is idle. Increase the timeout value as follows. 1. Log on to the SAP system. 2. Enter rz11 in the transaction text field and execute it. 3. Display the parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time. 4. Click Change Value and set the parameter to a value greater than 600 to allow your reports to run. The value is set in seconds. See Also Data Federation Administration Guide (attached sp6) if this is properly set, collect the client traces 1586166 - How to enable tracing for BI4.0 client applications and a jco trace to see a better picture of what is occurring when you get the error. 1609534 - How to enable SAPJCO trace on Adaptive Processing Server in Business Intelligence 4.x Overall Rating 1 Votes

Hi,
are you validating custom object? What is source of your universe?
This is happening with all objects or some specfic objects.
share some screenshot.

Hi,
The problem seems to be connector related and more specifically the connection to BW from data federator. After a connector refresh and a IDT app restart the queries and connector works fine for a while but after some idle time the error returns.
This happens on all the objects (normal ones) running of a BW multisourced connection.
Thanks
Gerrie
Hi Gerrie,
This looks like an installation issue with the IDT
Launch Information Design Tool An error has occurred. See the log file C:\Users\your username\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\.metadata.log
Resolution Try to rename the .history and .projects file located C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.core.resources\ to something else (or create a new folder and cut/paste them into that new folder, then restart IDT without those folders. If that does not help, try removing all the folders and see what you get. You may lose any local work but still be able to access the Enterprise Repository content that has been published.
