Dear All,
Can BW experts help me on this error.
Thanks & Warm Regards,
Fayak.
Hi Fayak,
Please check if you have in the system currency rates for EUR and INR on 12.07.2005. If you do, then you may look at the OSS note # 385790 - 'BW Content SD: Error in currency translation'.
Best regards,
Eugene

Hi Fayak,
This note says:
"During the update of SD transaction data in BW InfoCubes or ODS objects the system displays message SDBW 005 on the monitor "Error conversion foreign curr. -> local curr.: & & & -> &"."
It's your case, isn't it?
And the note concerns BW, not R/3!
Moreover, you didn't answer if you checked your currency rate existence.
Best regards,
Eugene

Hi Eugene,
Yeah I read that later on the note, I wanted to reply to you but it slipped my mind, I tired adding that to in SPRO (Define Standard Quoutation for Exchange Rates), but I got the same error and the note which you referred to holds the same lines of code in the INSERT BLOCK & DELETE BLOCK. It would be very kind of you if you could guide me thru this.
Thanks & Warm Regards,
Fayak.
Hi Fayak,
Not all clear for me what you've done. Let's sort it out.
You tried to implement correcting instructions of the note and saw that the code proposed by the note is already in your system?
The note #385790 has no corrections instructions, they are in the note #385297 to which it referenced. Which instructions to implement depends on your BW version and level of SP. So, you need to evaluate if the note is applicable to your case.
But first of all, I proposed to look at the currency rates in the system.
If you work with R/3 then you can copy rates into BW:
RSA1 - Source systems area - find your SS - right click on it - Transfer Exchange rates.
After or before that you can look in SE16 at the TCURR table and try to locate rates you need.
You can do it also, as well as set it up, in SPRO, general settings.
So, there are many ways, you need to find out where are you are.
Best regards,
Eugene
Hi Eugene,
I am sorry if I was not clear, Lemme list it in points.
The Global Transfer for Exchange Rates has been done earlier too, but based on your suggestion I carried out agains.
In the TCURR table I can see an record for INR -> EUR available.
Abt the note I have explained you the cause.
To Do
-
Do I need to add an record from EUR to INR is that what you are suggesting if so, can u guide me to the path or is it the same which i listed before in regard with SPRO.
Hope this helps.
Thanks & Warm Regards,
Fayak.
Hi Fayak,
I think you would need to convert your currency in the update rules to resolve this issue.
