Enable SAP IOT application Enablement in Trial Account

Hello,

I would like to enable SAP IOT application Enablement on the cloud platform.

I have accounts created for the two available roots in the Cloud Foundy: Europe (Frankfurt) and US East (VA) where the service is suppose to exist. And I have also account in the NEO version in Europe (Rot) trial.

Could you support me please?

Thank you

There is now a limited free trial available from within the tutorial at http://developer.sap.com > IoT Application Enablement. It will allow you to create a digital twin for your laptop, collect sensor data from your laptop and then build Application UIs using the template and the freestyle layout editor. It's available to anyone with an email address.

Hi, is this already possible from Trial account? I seem to not be able to see the service on my trial account..

No, it's not available from the regular (cloud foundry) trial account. It's only available in the above tutorial based on signing up for a special user in a dedicated (shared) landscape.

Hi Marcus,

Many thanks for your answer.

You mentioned that is not available from the regular ( cloud foundry ) TRIAL account, but is this available from the regular ( cloud foundry ) production account? or is this again a separate account ? Will this be included into the regular cloud foundry account in near future?

Thanks, Albert

Hi Souvik, it's not yet possible, to subscribe to the IoT Application Enablement service in your cloud foundry trial. We are working on this as we speak and it should be a matter of a few weeks to make this possible.

Once you have a subscription you can call our APIs not just from an app deployed in cloud foundry but also from Neo and for some use cases also from elsewhere in the Cloud. You will get the best performance only from cloud foundry though. Regards, Marcus

Hi Marcus,

I'm having the same issue, is the IoT service for cloud foundry supposed to be accessible for trial accounts already?

Both IoT AE and IoT Service for CF require a special onboarding process triggered by your contract and/or a test license with SAP. They do not (yet) show up in the SAP cloud platform cockpit and they are not (yet) accessible in the trial environments.

Your best bet right now if you work at an SAP customer is to work with your SAP account rep to get you a test and evaluation license and if you are a partner get the addon package for partners which is only a few bucks per month extra.
