Email language

Hi,

i have the strange behavior that emails in german sent from workflow, included some words (parameters) in english! If i take a look in the workflow protocol the whole text is only in german. That means that the email task use not 1:1 the parameters from the wf-task?!

Some ideas?

kr

Hello,

If the whole text is in German, then where are the English words coming from?

If they're being supplied via the binding then it's not wholly German. Workflow won't translate binding values.

Could you give an example?

Hi Rick,

yes that is the great question 😉

Pay attention to the saluation and the leave description.

I´ve tried to insert a file but it doesn´t worked. But here my explanation:

Text in the WF-Task:

Sehr geehrte Frau Schilling,

Ihr Antrag Urlaub vom 27.08.2012 bis ....

and in the Email:

Sehr geehrte Mrs  Schilling,

Ihr Antrag Leave vom 27.08.2012 bis ...

The bold words are parameters from the BO.

kind regards

Thorsten

Hello,

I assume in the Task Description you have something like:

Sehr geehrte &TITLE& &NAME&,

and in the binding you have TITLE = Frau and NAME = Schilling. Is that correct?

If so, how is TITLE defined?

Hi,

the description is nearly like you say but the binding includes the whole structure (BO ATTABS) in both container.

Description salutation:

&ATTABS.EMPLOYEE.PERSONALDATA.FORMOFADDRESS& &ATTABS.EMPLOYEE.PERSONALDATA.LASTNAME&,

Binding:

&attabs&          ->      &attabs&

kind regards

Hello,

Interesting! That FORMOFADDRESS is that an attribute of a class or BOR object?

Could its value depend on the default language of the user it's run under?

Which user executes it in the workflow, WF-BATCH?

Hi,

the WF runs only with BOs and the BO EMPLOYEE is a sap standard object.

The users and masterdata are all maintained in german language (DE). And the technical user is wf-batch also in language DE.

Hello,

How about the usernames under which the workflow jobs (SWW*) are run in SM37?

Any of those have English as the default language?

Hello,

Do any accounts (user, batch RFC) have English as a default language?

If you test to BO in SWO1, does it show German text?

Does this happen for other workflows? Does it happen for all instances? When did it start happening?

Hi,

some users does not had an default language, so i maintained it and wait for an response. But it was not the solution so i have still this issue.

Yes we have several WF with this problem.  It seems that we have it only in production.

I can´t recognize the date when it started.
