Hi,
check following notes for SAP Support related to SQL Server Service Packs:
62988 - Service Packs for Microsoft SQL Server
1076022: Release planning for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 (R2)
1279358: Cumulative Update Installation for SQL Server 2008
I suggest you to consider to migrate to SQL Server 2008 R2, that will add some additional features.

Leo

Hello Leopoldo,
Thanks for the info,
I already checked the all above notes but these can't clarify about my doubt that is SQL Server 2008 SP3 Support perfectly or not.
As of now we are not planning to migrate SQL, Just want to apply the latest service pack,
So is it possible to apply SP3, if yes then we apply or else will quit here.

hello,
Please check
1473016 Service Pack Installation for SQL Server 2008
You must implement at least the following SQL Server version:
SQL Server Minimum version
SQL Server 2008R2 10.50.1702
SQL Server 2008 10.00.2531 (2)
In general ok to be on latest service pack. Best to test first on a text system if possible.

Hello Shriniwas,
Yes, you can use SQL Server 2008 SP3.
As we can see in note 62988:
We recommend that you update your SQL Server installation regularly. Always import the most recent Support Package, the latest Security Update, and the most current Cumulative Update as soon as they are available.
Regards,
Eduardo Rezende
