Drill-down needs merge

I have a report with several levels of drilldown. For some purpose, the users request to merge level 1 and 2.

Originally, the drill down will only show a sub branch, e.g. all level 2 only under 1 item in level 1, but the merge requests to display all of level 1 AND all of level 2 on one page

Can we do this?

Can you try to implement conditional hierarchical grouping. This will arrange the levels in a specific manner and provide the flexibility to hide/show the data as per the requirement.

Create a parameter that controls the suppress expression of the level 2 sections. The user will then be able to decide if they want to see the detail at level 2.

Thanks for all your ideas.

After I changed my query (to merge 2 columns into 1 column) and reformatted my display correspondingly, I was stuck with the original summaries, as they are no longer two separate summary columns (so original summaries are no longer available)...

While I was checking around, I found out the only thing I need to do is:

1) right click the section I want to "merge" with the up level, then

2) click "show".

That's it. That's the "merge". It now displays two levels together with all the items in these two levels.

I still thank you for the discussion.

You may have to use a subreport to do the merging on the drill down
